2022 Finalists
August 8, 2022
Healthiest Employers, in partnership with Springbuk, is proud to announce the 2022 Honorees for the Healthiest Employers of New York City. This year we are pleased to recognize 13 employers who have taken the time over the last year to raise the bar. Their dedication to wellness and in-house employee benefits are remarkable and worthy of sharing.
In the New York City region, over 78% of these companies work within a hybrid model, allowing them to spend time working in the office and from home. They are also committed to providing employees a better work environment, with 50% offering a work-from-home stipend and taking employees’ geographical location into consideration when it comes to their compensation. While these statics are just scratching the surface, it is clear that these companies are going above and beyond to create a culture that is comfortable and empowering for all employees.
Check out the winners in this region as well as some of the amazing things their wellness programs have provided their employees.

Since launching their onsite Mental Health Advisor offering in 2018, the firm has seen year-over-year growth in utilization and engagement. This was particularly noticeable during the imposed lockdown of COVID-19, when they largely expanded their connectability via online sessions. Since 2019, they witnessed a 144% increase in total engagements.
“Recently, I have had a lot of deadlines, which brings about a fair amount of stress. I want to be able to do excellent work, support my coworkers, and meet all requested timelines. Amidst this, I made the time to do two of the ‘Ignite Your Life’ series – Sleep Mode and Anxiety Antidote. I still feel stress but these two practices have helped me to pause and breathe deeply for a short period when I am really feeling the pressure. This helps calm my mind and lets me more easily break down what is needed immediately, so I can focus on that rather than worry about all of the things bearing down on me.” – Anonymous

“Sleep has always been difficult for me. Normally I can never stay asleep long enough for me to wake up and feel well rested. When our Wellness Team decided to do a Sleep Campaign, I jumped at the chance to learn more tips and tricks. The sleep seminar and the email notifications with sleep facts really drove in the reminder to value our health. When they provided us with the Sleep Journal, I really stepped up my sleep health with the most important tip – consistency. When I’m consistent with my Sleep Journal and the other tips WRNS provided, I sleep so much better." – Nayda Medina, Studio Assistant
3rd Squarespace– 1440 Employees
Squarespace is a leading all-in-one website building and ecommerce platform that enables millions to build a brand and transact with their customers in an impactful and beautiful online presence. Their team of more than 1400 is headquartered in downtown New York City, with offices in Dublin, Ireland, and Portland, Oregon.
“I’m impressed with Squarespace’s acknowledgement of mental health. There are several services included with our benefits that support employees’ mental health such as the Headspace meditation app, Healthjoy benefits platform, Talkspace, and Ginger. There’s also an Employee Assistance Program, which offers a wide variety of confidential assistance. I’ve never worked anywhere where people could have conversations about mental health so openly, much less having formal programs in place to support mental health. I feel like I can be unashamed of who I am and that goes a long way. I spent many years pushing myself to the limit mentally (and physically) in order to get ahead.” -Anonymous

Through the annual blood work requirement, I have become familiar with my ‘numbers. Prior to being in the wellness program, my doctor would order tests but I wouldn’t see or discuss the results unless there was a problem. With the wellness program, these numbers are visible to me so I can discuss them with my doctor and compare year after year. Through the wellness program, I am able to receive reimbursement for my fitness expenses to Orangetheory Fitness®. This membership has helped me reduce body fat and extra pounds. And a few years ago, I participated in a wellness step challenge that had me logging more miles than I ever thought possible. "All my life, I’ve loved to fish, boat, golf, and play guitar. For years when I did these activities, I’d enjoy a cigar. I didn’t smoke cigarettes, just cigars. Eventually, the frequency crept up. I started noticing there was always a cigar involved, even when I was just driving in the car or tinkering in the garage. It was becoming more of a habit than I wanted — or needed. My CBIZ benefits included the Quit for Life® smoking cessation program. I enrolled in Quit for Life, and I found the program to be a great way to hold myself accountable. I was paired with a Quit Coach® who provided a custom Quit Plan and connected regularly with me. Quit for Life gave me the tools I needed to be successful. In 2018 I completed the program and never looked back. I encourage anyone to course correct to be healthy enough to one day enjoy retirement!” - Anonymous
