November 21, 2024
Healthiest Employers® was started in 2009 to celebrate companies that prioritize their people by investing in their employees' health. In partnership with Springbuk, we are pleased to announce the 2024 Healthiest Employers Minnesota.
Each company filled out our annual Healthiest Employers application. The responses are scored using a rubric-style 1-100 scale. The assessment consists of six categories, with yes/no, multiple-choice, and short-answer questions, each totaling .25-3 points. A Healthiest Employers Index (HEI) is assigned to each application to help rank among companies of similar sizes. Please visit our methodology page here for information on how the applications are scored.
Congratulations to all of our winners this year! Please note that write-ups were only conducted on the 1st place winner in each category.

Minnesota Air, a family-owned business established in 1981, serves as a full-service distributor of equipment, parts, and supplies for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration. The company is recognized for its commitment to excellence, offering advanced products and brands, exceptional customer service, and comprehensive training and support.
Minnesota Air recently introduced "Benefit Buzz" as part of its benefits program to enhance employee awareness and utilization of available resources. This intranet board highlights a different benefit each month, detailing its features and access methods. The initiative aims to uncover underutilized resources, create cost savings, empower informed decisions, and foster a positive workplace culture. The platform has significantly contributed to healthier, happier, and more engaged employees.
A standout success of the benefits program is the financial wellness initiative. Employees can contribute to 401K and Roth 401K accounts through payroll, with the company matching 2% per paycheck and providing a discretionary 6% match annually. This program boasts a 98% employee participation rate, far exceeding the 75% peer average. Additionally, 96% of participants engage with their retirement planning at least twice yearly, with 29% using a dedicated financial planner, compared to 76% and 17% among peers. These results underscore Minnesota Air's commitment to investing in its employees, their families, and their futures.
“I think Minnesota Air should be recognized as a healthy workplace because year over year this program continues to grow. I see new people engaging in the program, new activities, healthy competitions, and most importantly an environment that encourages every individual to make self-care a priority. Plus, we are so proud of our accomplishments, individual and company, that we have encouraged many other organizations to embrace the challenge.” –Robin Lienke, Director of Sales & Marketing
