How are employers selected?

Employers complete the online Assessment. Applicants receive their Healthiest Employers Index (HEI), a 1-100 metric to measure their program.

Top ranking semi-finalists are invited to participate in the second step: completing a more comprehensive online measurement.

The top 100 Employers are selected from the Semi-Finalist group. The countdown of winners is announced at the annual Healthiest100 Event.

What’s the difference between the local and national awards?

The Healthiest Employers program occurs in over forty regions (cities) and states. It is the gateway to selection as a semi-finalist for the Healthiest 100 program. Each regional or state participant receives a Healthiest Employer Index (HEI) score. Semi-finalists for the Healthiest 100 program are selected based on these scores.

What does it cost to participate?

Nothing. The only requirement is that you follow the application process. Selection of the Healthiest 100 is based strictly on objective interpretation of applicants’ Healthiest Employer Index scores and Strategic Wellness Assessment data. Participation in both stages of the selection process is free.
